Tips for travelling here
Please support us in our environmental programme of work and walk, cycle or use public transport whenever it’s possible for you to do so.
By Metro
Make your visit a great value day out by travelling to our venues by Metro. Up to three children aged 11 and under can travel for free on the Metro and the Shields Ferry with a fare-paying adult. Save on adult Metro fares too by using Pop Pay As You Go.
Plan your journey in advance and track your Metro train in real time with the Pop app. Search 'Nexus Pop' on Google Play or the App Store.
Our Ways to Play programme is supported by our travel partner Tyne & Wear Metro
The nearest Metro station is Percy Main which is one and a half miles away from the museum. If travelling from Percy Main, please take the number 19 bus (Cobalt South). If travelling from Wallsend, please take the number 42 bus. The 310 bus starts from the Haymarket Bus Station in Newcastle and stops outside the museum. The museum bus stop is Cobalt South and there are buses every 15 minutes.
